the unthinkable!

I was working on Clapotis two nights ago and the *unthinkable* happened- I finished a row, turned the work around to start purling back (I'm knitting it on a set of Denises), and suddenly one side got really heavy. Turns out somehow during the course of knitting the row, the cord extender had unscrewed itself and come off completely. I'm lucky that the cotton ribbon yarn sticks on the plastic needles because I didn't lose any of the stitches (imagine... I've been complaining to myself that the cotton ribbon sticks and it was driving me crazy, and that is the thing that saved me).

I've dropped the second row of stitches... and it already looks lovely. I meant to take a picture to upload last night, but was so tired I just went to bed. I'll try to get one up this weekend.

It is certainly a chilly Maine fall... I wish I had time to practice knitting some socks!
