It's Summertime!

And what better of a thing to be working on than...

a scarf?!

Yep, I've put Orangina down a bit to work on Danica on knitty. When I went to ACMoore to pick the circulars to do Orangina, they were having a sale on Woolease. And since I think Woolease makes a rather nice product considering the high acrylic content, I grabbed three skeins. The bizarre thing is that I didn't remember what colors were used in the pattern, only that I need three different ones. Once I got home I realized that I chose two of the same colors that the original pattern used. At any rate, here is my progress thus far...

I'm really enjoying entrelac even though I haven't gotten to the point where I can do it without glancing at the pattern.

I did get a little further with Orangina...

I love this finished pattern... and I like the fact that I can do the lace without really thinking about it. I think my biggest crux in the pattern, though, is the metal needles. I've gotten so accustomed to my Denises (and my bamboo needles when I have to use dpns) that metal just seems wrong. And since ACMoore had no small size bamboo circs, metal was the only option I had. I am thinking I might head over to my not-so-local yarn store after I get paid next to see if they have wooden needles in smaller sizes.

Happy sunshine, folks!

I'm going to be working on changing the layout a bit around here... I'm really really bored with the old one. I've also taken out the comments feature (since no one was really using it anyway) and my bloglines list (since no one was really using that either). I'll probably put in an email contact link when I refinish everything just in case someone does want to contact me... until then, click here to drop me an email.

Happy June!

You're all thinking "Ah... it's been June for a while..." And while yes, it has, I haven't blogged here since May, so there you go! And I am back with pictures!

I didn't make it to the Fiber Frolic like I had planned... Sebastian was in rare, full of the moon form, and I felt guilty about leaving him with Seth all day (and since it was raining, I couldn't see bringing Sebastian around the event with me). I want to hear details from anyone that went... especially Kate!

So now for some pictures of stuff I had finished a while back but hadn't posted...

First, the sweater that I crocheted for my friend's beautiful baby boy. It's the same pattern that I've used on all of the baby sweaters on here lately... the "Baby It's Cold Outside" pattern from Crochetme.

Second, two washclothes that I knitted for the baby. Now, both of these are supposed to have an animal in them. I was figuring that the varigated yarn one wouldn't work so well since the pattern of the yarn was going to hide the pattern of the animal. But the solid yarn? That didn't work so well either. I've outlined the animals in each of the cloths for you to get the idea.

For my friend that had the baby, I also knitted her a birthday gift for the package I sent. I used Wendy's Dream Swatch pattern from Knit and Tonic. Although the yarn isn't fancy, I thought it looked wonderful in this pattern.

As I mentioned in my last entry, my knitting muse had left temporarily and that I was hoping picking something up to knit would make me inspired. In order to get a quick fix, I knitted up the Anthropologie Capelet pattern in two balls of Rowan Polar. This yarn is dreamy to work with and I am absolutely bummed that it has been discontinued and is hard to find. It took me two days... and the pattern is incredibly simple to follow.

And finally... I've started Glampyre's fabulous Orangina! Huzzah! The downside is that I only got three rows in before I got absorbed into the E! Channel's broadcast of Dazed and Confused. I love this movie. I can't wait to finish this project since I love every finished version I've seen.
