Valentine's Day photo dump!
I'd mentioned before that I had photos of my finished Clapotis coming, so instead of procrastinating further I decided to get off my butt and upload the pictures on my camera.
Clapotis... done with Knitpicks Sock Garden in Hydrangea. I don't think they make this yarn anymore, which is a shame since it is really nice to work with and super soft. The upside is that I still have enough to make a pair of socks.
mods to the pattern: I used a size 7 needle instead of a size 8. I also did 18 straight section repeats instead of the written 12. It is quite long (the blocking pictures show it stretched completely across my yoga mat, so I know that it is taller than me). I admit that I haven't yet weaved in the ends, but that is for pure laziness sake.
general thoughts: This is the second Clap I've made... the first was two Christmases ago when I did one for my mom in ribbon yarn. I love how this pattern can really be done with any yarn and still look great.
pictures:
General blocking pictures.

And general wearing pictures... I could have wrapped it around my neck another time.

After all the issues I had with the SWTC Karaoke breaking apart, I decided to knit it into a simple felted bag. I'm going to throw it through another wash cycle, I think, because I'd like the stitch definition to be a little less defined. No pattern... just a simple garter bottom and the stitches picked up all around the bag.

Maryse is having a great contest for breaking the rules in socks... here are my two entries:

I've got some other bright socks, but it would figure that they are in the laundry (and I just get a weird feeling about putting on dirty socks... even just for a quick picture). You have until tomorrow to enter, so go!
And finally... since I haven't featured my fuzzy baby on here for a while, here is Camilla watching me taking socks pictures:

Your clapotis looks fabulous!!
The color looks so pretty on you. I like it the best in the bottom picture [but that is how I wear my shaws too]. :] Great sock photos too!
I love how the color worked on that. It's much nicer pooled than all over little bits. That's the nicest Clap I've seen!
Oh my god dot com! I love the colors of your clapotis! It's gorgeous!
