WHY does it cost so much to have a 47" Addi Turbo needle shipped to me? Seriously, I just cannot justify spending $5.00 for shipping just because the LYS doesn't carry that length. *growls*
The Girl
early 30s. Mama and Stepmom. Wife. I work too much and knit/ crochet too little. I love the Red Sox, the ocean, sunsets, 70 degree weather and my Denise Interchangables.
I'm a webmistress, amateur photographer, and a loud-mouth Christian feminist (yes, I can assure you it *is* possible!). Maine is my home, and although my husband is teaching me to snowboard,
I still hate the winters. My kitty Camilla frequently appears in my knitting stories.

Because you live at the outskirts of the civilized world...
oh, yeah, I watch that too!
And if it's not the shipping, it's the &*%$#!@ sales tax. (Do you have sales tax up that way?) Maybe sneak into New Hampshire?
Hey! Are you also shewillbetray? If so, small world we should get together! I have some dirt on that snow day, maybe I'll blog about in next post.
I think the point of the high shipping is so that you'll order more stuff in order to justify paying the shipping. . . so next thing you know, you've got $200 of stuff in your basket, but shipping has only gone up to $9.95, so, proportionally it makes more sense than paying $5 to ship one Addi. That's my theory, anyway.
