Knit Mainea

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

I've been really slacking at the updating lately... mostly because I am either frantically knitting or because I am sucked into Ravelry.

As I mentioned in a previous post, my next up socks for Summer of Socks is Hedera. I'm using some Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock and I could not have picked a better pattern for this colorway. Seriously... I love the way that these are striping!

The pattern calls for a size 1 needle, but I am using a size 2 and they seem to fit perfectly so far. The hardest thing with this pattern is going from knitting socks with 5 dpns to using 4... I had to rearrange how I normally hold my dpns.

I've also jumped on the Mystery Stole bandwagon this year! I've never done it before, and wasn't sure what to expect, but I am really enjoying it. I can also say with certainty that now that I am working Clue #2, it is easier to follow than Clue #1. I tinked back more times with Clue #1 than I should have because I so easily get sucked into the Red Sox games and lose which stitch I am on. I am up to row 141 on Clue #2 and expect to start Clue #3 tonight.

And... that's all the updating I can muster right now... I haven't had any coffee yet.

Great socks! I like how your mystery shawls is looking. :) I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend for a wedding (er, well, I'll be in Maine - not sure if it's actually near you...)
